The making of GiuliaN Gin

This is how the idea of GiuliaN Gin came about

The genesis

The business people Giuliano and Nicola, who have been friends for decades, spent their short vacation in the mountains with their families. In the afternoon over a caffé at the hotel bar, the two talked about current trends, including the topic of gin and the global gin hype. During this conversation Nicola asked: What exactly is a gin? Giuliano explained to him that gin is a distillate made from juniper and other different botanicals.

In the evening in a restaurant, the 2 friends and their wives ordered a classic gin and tonic, which everyone didn't like because of the sharpness and the bitter aftertaste. On the way to the hotel you passed a bar and tried another gin and tonic there. You tasted the gin and tonic much better and you came up with the idea "Let's create a gin that reflects the heartbeat and attitude to life in Italy."

No sooner said than done - the idea was born.

Our GiuliaN Gin project was taking shape

After the weekend, the 2 friends started immediately, dealing extensively with the subject of gin, botanicals and the right partner for distilling.

After several appointments in Italian distilleries, the decision had already been made.

The 2 friends decided for the traditional and family company Zanin 1895 in Zugliano, where currently in the 4th generation, according to old tradition and for over 125 years of craftsmanship experience, from selected ingredients, with calm, patience, passion and lots of Amore distillates, Grappa, brandies and liqueurs are produced.

Giuliano, Nicola and Zanin quickly found the right bontanicals for the new gin together!

OUR BOTANICALS: THE SOUL OF GIULIAN GIN

While the alcoholic distillate - ethyl alcohol from agricultural production - is the heart of the gin, so to speak, the botanicals represent the soul of the gin. They give the juniper schnapps its special charm, because every desired taste can be achieved and It never gets boring.

Our botanicals: juniper, absinthe, coriander seeds, gentian root, orris root, dried peel of sweet oranges

Our botanicals are put into the infusion / brew all at once and not less than 6 weeks before we add the GiuliaN
